Limestone AU is a Fanfiction Series and an Alternative Universe world created by Karbonite in the mid-2019. This fanfiction is currently under development progress and writing progress by both the original writter and Whendaleksattack. As of mid-2021, this series has released one single season out of 4 in total and the second season was currently under work.
The AU took a turn away from the traditional Doraemon plotline and the writter aims to make this AU a decent Slice of Life Light Novel Series (As a fanfiction rather than published book, in which he would strongly disagree) that resembles to those SoL Anime stories known within the otaku world. That's the reason why this story feels kind off like a real Anime story rather than using the traditional Doraemon Anime settings.
AU Background[]
This AU took place in a whole different world, where Doraemon gang is quite different from the original anime series. Almost everyone within the gang now has a different personalities, especially Nobita, Shizuka, and Gian while Suneo and Doraemon was kind off the same as the original anime series. This AU also introduces 6 new character to the gang, some of them already existed within the canon world as a cameo and other one hasn't even introduced into the Anime (Pure OC's)
Because this AU is vastly different than the original anime plotline, the writter has to re-done and did some plot rebuilding for the past events leading up and towards the future. He changed every aspect of Nobita, Shizuka's personalities, general look, dreams, and intelligence levels and much more. He was still using some aspects of the main series and some episodes in the original anime did also happen in this timeline, but with a different spices.
Events Leading Up To The Main Story[]
Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo and Gian were all born in the early 21st century, in the year 2000 to be exact. However, they weren't all born in the city of Tokyo, Shizuka was born in Osaka, while Gian was born in Okinawa. Suneo and Nobita were all born in Tokyo, but they weren't even neighbours when either of them born.
2 Years after their births, they were starting to move to the neighbourhood around Nobi residence. The first one is Suneo, followed by Gian and Shizuka came in the last. Nobita first met Shizuka before meeting both Gian and Suneo, and quickly made friends with Shizuka during her visit with her parents at Nobi Residence. It was until Shizuka's birthday that Nobita finally met with Gian and Suneo during Shizuka's birthday party in which her mum invites every kids around the neighbourhood. From there on, these four very strong friendship bonds started to form in between them, and will remain untied until their final days.
As time progresses, they entered the Elementary School. This is where Nobita started to show some mental and physical incapabilities. During the first 3 years, he aced every lessons he's in excluding sports, but from there, his grades started to fall down to the abyss. To the point where during his 5th year in ES, he literally never scores anything in any examination, and even any assignments on every single subjects in the school. His common senses also fell down the drain, which effectively made his common sense comparable to those 5 years old. During this time, Nobita started to develop a feeling towards his only female friend, Shizuka Minamoto. But however, she was seemed to be closer to her other friend, Dekisugi which is much much smarter than he is, and masters almost every kind of sports imaginable.
From there, it seems like his entire future life is flowing down the drain, he is hopeless, got a strong and violent bullying coming from his friend, Gian and verbal bullying coming from Suneo. He got no chance to fight against his rival, Dekisugi who was perfect in any way shape or form. But one night in September 2008, A blue cat robot named "Doraemon" coming from the year 2126 came to his rescue.... well sort of. Because even after Doraemon's arrival, he was still a lazy kid who sought to sleep almost every day.
Even so, he did a really good job in restoring Nobita's dignity amongst his friend, with the help of his gadget. The four kids and the robot went to a perilous journey across the space time continuum, collecting every bits of memories as they went along the places. From this point, Shizuka turned in favour of Nobita and started to turn away from her closest-friend of early 5th grade, Dekisugi.
But after the graduation of the Elementary school, Shizuka has to go to visit her grandmother in Osaka for around 3-4 weeks until her Junior High School entrance. This left Nobita, Gian and Suneo alone with nothing to do. Then, the three met with a random french-japanese girl during their stroll in a park near the Back Hill. Nobita, developed a strong urge to impress the girl and with the help of Doraemon and (surprisingly) Suneo and Gian, he changed every aspect of his looks, his personalities and his skills (Mainly Guitar and French language). But all that came into a waste as the girl had left for france before they had a chance. The three decided to revert changes present in Nobita's body like his look, and some other, but left the skills in his head.
And when Shizuka went back, she met with the 'new' Nobita, and from there on.... she developed a strong feeling towards him. But refuses to admit as he was still a young slacker, and she dislikes being paired with Nobita. Her adolescense period also affects her personalities a bit.
From here, the story began....
Differences Between the AU and Original Anime[]
Limestone AU offers :
- This AU focuses on the gang's life as a Junior High School and High school students that was going through their adolescence period rather than focusing on it's science fiction.
- Nobita has a better and grown up personality, compared to his 'childish' personality in Junior High School or even his adulthood in the original anime.
- Shizuka's feeling towards Nobita is much stronger in this AU
- Both Nobita and Shizuka in general has a different personality from the original anime, but still derives a few key personalities from the original anime.
- Because of the statement above, Shizuka was now categorized into a 'Tsundere'
- Introduction of two cameos from the original story, which were Nonko (A.K.A Non-chan) and Suzy-chan (Known in the story as the Suzume). Each of them has unique personalities
- Introduction of 4 aditional Doraemon gang members, and more deuteragonists
- Introduction of a proper family tree of Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo, Gian, and the rest of the extended gang members
- The story uses a proper real world places within Japan, South Korea, and the entire world (Refer to the KML File for Google Earth)
- The characters has their own proper historical and future ancestry,
- Re-adjustment of some ancestry levels (?) for example; Sewashi is now Nobita's Great Grandson, a step forward from the Original Anime plot which tells the viewers that Sewashi is his Great-great Grandson.

- "The Story Of Two People" (二人の物語 - Futari no Monogatari)- The song is made by Suzume Tokugawa, her sister, and Nonko Aoyama. Sung by Nonko Aoyama (Main singer) and sometimes Suzume herself. It has two versions, the main semi orchestral and a piano solo version. The song told the story of the two souls (basically the story of Nobita and Shizuka).

2019[]
- Around August : Doing my first fanart, and applying some fanonical modification to Shizuka and Nobita. And the idea for a new AU was born
- Around September : Then, i started to write a random 'romance' themed fanart between Nobita and Shizuka. Which soon will become the main vocal point of the AU
- Early November : The initial version of unnamed AU was born, this AU took place in the future right after the series ended. Then i started to brainstorm a new fanfiction called "The Tale Of 2 Teens".
- Late November : Then, i did a collaboration work with a fanfiction.net user, Anis5240 (Huge credit for her). and we started to work on the fanfiction project above.
- 30th December 2019 : The first chapter of the fanfiction was posted in fanfiction.net.
2020[]
- In January, then the second chapter was posted. Followed by a long hiatus on the story itself
- During the pandemic, i started to brainstorm about the new AU. After joining into the proper Doraemon community, i started to build a new named AU, which is Limestone AU. At first, it is just a character templates for my fanarts and fanfics. But then it slowly progresses as i added in some lores to them
- The first fanfiction was then renamed to "Stay With Me, Nobita-san!", and the third chapter was released.
- In the mid August, Together with the "The Four Musketeers" Fanfic team, we created a new offspin, movie type fanfiction taking the inspiration from the 2015 Superhero Movie.
- In the same month, another fanfiction idea for my friend darwin4569 was born. It was the alternate plot for the 2016 The Birth Of Japan Movie, that was based of the Limestone AU
- From there, the ideas of a new serial based fanfiction starting to take shape as September began.
- Then in October, the very first draft of the first volume was written in Indonesian Language, but later switched into English. The first chapter was posted at the end of the same month.
- In November, i decided to put the Superhero fic and the earlier "Stay With Me, Nobita-san!" fanfic into a halt, as i was revamping and re-arranging the entire AU plotline. And i took down the stay fanfiction as November finally came to an end. This was then decided that the Stay fanfiction will be turned into the third season of the whole fanfiction.
- As we entered December, Whendaleksattack decided to help me out in writing the fanfiction. We had reached the 13th chapter right after the new year.
2021[]
- Then we progressed onwards all the way to the finish line. Properly planned out everything as i had gotten a friend to discuss with
- In May, i started to draft out the outline of the entirety of the AU (Vol. 2,3 and 4) putting in a proper problems, and proper arcs into the series.
- In June, we finally finished the first volume of the story, and proceeding into the second.
